Adobe Creek Loop: Where Gulls Nest & Pelicans Rest (Palo Alto)

American White Pelican by Phil Chen

Join us for a Mandarin bilingual morning birding walk along the scenic Adobe Creek Loop Trail

We will see

✨ White-tailed Kites hover gracefully, while Red-tailed Hawks and Turkey Vultures soar above. Gulls cry overhead, and Cliff and Barn Swallows zip through the air in search of breakfast.

🎶 Song Sparrows serenade from the bushes, filling the morning with melody.

🌊 Near the Little Sea Dyke, Black-necked Stilts and American Avocets wade elegantly in the shallows, while cormorants stretch their wings wide on the aboiteaux, soaking up the sun.

🪶 A little further down the trail, Snowy Egrets forage calmly in the slough.

🐥 A massive colony of nesting gulls greets you with a flurry of activity.

😴 And just beyond that, a group of White Pelicans lounges peacefully, waking up for the day.

📍 The trail is flat and easy, perfect for birders of all levels, including families and beginners.

Come explore the wetland’s morning magic with us and meet its feathered residents—binoculars available!

Optional: pack your own lunch/snack and we'll picnic together afterwards.
