What Your Project Should Be About
This competition is based on the theme “Bird-Friendly City.” Students are encouraged to connect their ideas with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by:
Observing nature and birds around you
Asking questions and exploring real-life problems
Learning through research, interviews, or simple social surveys
You can explore how cities, people, and birds can live better together, and share what you discover, think, and feel.

Form of work
Graphic paintings: They are created in the form of a combination of handwritten words and hand-drawn pictures. There are no restrictions on paper texture, no more than A2 in size and no more than one sheet in length. When registering, the work must be taken or scanned into pictures and uploaded, JPG format, resolution of 300dpi or more, and attach the name of the work and creative explanation, as the basis of the work review. College is allowed, but the thickness cannot exceed 2cm.
Short videos: displayed in various forms such as documentaries, microfilms, speeches, etc. The minimum requirements for the work's graphics quality are: horizontal and vertical screens are unlimited, the graphics quality of 1920 × 1080 (HD), mp4 format, the size of 300M within, the time of not more than 3 minutes, the video should have English subtitles.
Artistic installation works: the volume of the work does not exceed 1 cubic meter, Design works using environmentally friendly materials and used materials combined with circular concepts are recommended. Please submit a photo of the installation work (with the name of the work, creative directions, observations (if any), and a sketch of the installation design (if any) in JPG format with a resolution above 300 dpi).
The theme work of bird strike stickers: it is designed as a holistic picture, the size of A3, the picture is designed to be a combination of multiple elements, each element not exceeding 5cm apart, and the holistic picture must cover 70% of A3 paper, the color is bright and conspicuous, the color contrast is large, and it is both aesthetic, scientific and feasible.
Non-standard creative works: interactive works, creative books (drawings, handbooks, etc.), stage plays, small pieces, H5s, etc. (This competition is especially open to non-standard creative work tracks, encouraging you to go beyond the traditional framework and convey the concept of "bird-friendly" in more thoughtful forms
Works submitted
The submission must include the author's name, age, school, contact email, mentoring teacher, and other information. Works may be submitted individually or in a team (no more than 3 authors of a team work and no more than 2 instructors).
Each submission must include a description in either written or video format. There is no word limit for written descriptions. Video descriptions must be in 16:9 format, submitted as an MP4 file, no larger than 300 MB, and no longer than 3 minutes. Subtitles are optional.
Review process
First Round Teachers and experts look at all the projects. Some projects are chosen to move on to the next round.
Final Round Experts review the selected projects and choose the winners. The winners will be announced publicly.
Evaluation criteria
Clear Idea Your project has a clear topic and shows that you understand what a bird-friendly city means.
Caring for the Earth Your work shows how people can protect nature and help make the world a better place.
Can It Be Done? Your idea makes sense and could really happen in real life.
Creative Thinking Your project shows new ideas, imagination, or creative ways of thinking.
Awards
The contest has two groups: primary school and secondary school.
In each group, students can win Special Awards, First Awards, Second Awards, or Third Awards.
All winning students will receive an official certificate from the UN SDGs Public Education and PEPPA Project Management Committee and special prizes. Outstanding works will be showcased at Bird-Friendly City exhibitions in Chongqing and the United States. Selected winners will have the opportunity to join a summer field trip to Chongqing.
What to Know Before Entering
All submissions must be original works created by the participants and must not have been entered in other competitions.
Copyright remains with the creator. By entering the competition, participants agree that the organizing committee may use submitted works for non-profit purposes, such as project websites, exhibitions, and educational or promotional materials related to the contest.
The organizing committee reserves the right of final interpretation of the competition rules.
