Drop-in: McClellan Ranch (Cupertino)
Nuttall's Woodpecker by Deanne Tucker
Learn birding basics and your backyard birds, meet some new people, and experience the joys of birding! This event will take place outside the SCVBA Nature Shop in Cupertino, where we will focus on the birds that visit our feeders. These are the same backyard birds that you may see in your garden. With the help of our volunteers, you’ll learn how to use binoculars, Merlin Bird ID (a free bird identification app for both android and iPhones), and some birding basics. Drop in anytime during the event, stay for as long or as little as you would like, no reservations required.
Trip Difficulty: this is a stationary event, there will be some shade and benches close by
Notes: Bring binoculars if you have them; we will have loaner binoculars available as well. Parents, there are animals near the barn (alpacas, goats, chickens, ducks) as well as a playground about half a mile down the path.
