Field Trip: Bird and Plant ID Walk at Lake Cunningham Park (San Jose)

Join us for a bird and native plant identification walk through Lake Cunningham Park, San Jose. This lake is a major destination for waterfowl and migratory birds and its Native Garden draws many birds due to its habitat value. On this walk, Vicki Silvas-Young and Sarah Chan will show you how to identify the common birds of this area, while Arvind Kumar and Ashok Jethanandani will identify the native plants that they depend on for food and shelter.

Age Limit: All Ages; Young birders, ages 18 and under, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Trip Difficulty: Two miles round-trip, paved trails, lawns (potentially wet), little or no elevation gain
Other Trip Notes: Please come dressed for the weather, i.e. hiking boots, warm rainproof jacket
