Once part of the Rancho San Vicente Mexican land grant, this park is located in the south end of Almaden Valley. We will hike the Lisa Killough Trail as it climbs through rock-strewn grassy hillsides with scattered oaks while we look for Lark Sparrows, Rock Wrens, and Golden Eagles. Grazing cattle can be expected. 3 miles, gentle climb. (Optional extension to Calero Reservoir) After our bird walk which will end about 11am, you will have the option of caravanning 2 miles down McKean Rd to the Calero Reservoir Launch Ramp where we will scan the lake for wintering ducks, grebes, and wading birds.
