Field Trip: Cuesta Park (Mountain View)

On this easy route through Mountain View's Cuesta Park, we will identify some of the birds that are often seen in our city parks and neighborhoods, including songbirds, hawks, woodpeckers, and hummingbirds. We will especially be on the lookout for returning winter birds including White-crowned Sparrow, Cedar Waxwing, and Townsend's Warbler.

Optional: pack your own lunch/snack and we'll picnic together afterwards.

Trip Difficulty: 1 mile, paved trails, lawns (potentially wet), little or no elevation gain

Meet: Cuesta Park main parking lot, near the tennis building

Directions: From CA-85 in Mountain View, exit onto CA-82 N/El Camino Real. Continue north on El Camino Real towards downtown Mountain View for about 0.3 miles then turn left onto Grant Rd. Continue for 0.6 miles, then turn right onto Cuesta Dr. In 0.2 miles, turn left at the light into the Cuesta Park main parking lot. (This is the larger of two parking lots accessed from Cuesta Drive; it's the second one if you're coming from Grant Rd.) GPS: 37.3722387, -122.0822564
