Field Trip: Duck, Duck, Goose! at Hellyer County Park (San Jose)
An urban park in San Jose with a mix of habitats - riparian, woodland, fresh water lake - provides a wide variety of species in a small area. A mix of wintering birds and residents with the chance of a rarity or two. We’ll check out the waterfowl on Cottonwood Lake and wander along Coyote Creek.
Trip Difficulty: 3 miles, paved trails, gravel trails, lawns (potentially wet), little or no elevation gain, some shade

Meet: playground parking lot
Directions: From US-101 in San Jose, exit Hellyer Ave. Follow the signs for the county park and merge onto Hellyer Ave. Once on Hellyer Ave, take the first left into the main parking lot. Parking Type and Fees: paved parking lot, parking fees (use Santa Clara County Park annual pass, otherwise it is $6.00 per car, credit card only)
