Field Trip: Evening at Sunnyvale Water Pollution Control Plant

Join us in the evening for a flat, 2.5-mile walk beside some of the ponds and waterways that make up Sunnyvale's Water Pollution Control Plant. We may see Phalaropes, Terns, Pelicans, Gallinules, Swallows, and more.

Trip Difficulty:2.5 miles, packed-dirt trails, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade

Additional Languages: English will be the primary language of this field trip, but other languages spoken by our trip leaders include Cantonese.

Meet: North side of the W Caribbean Dr and Google Caribbean intersection

Directions: From CA-237 in Sunnyvale, exit Lawrence Expy/Caribbean Dr. Continue onto Caribbean Dr. In a little over one mile, you’ll pass Borregas Ave. After you’ve passed Borregas Ave, park anywhere along W Caribbean Dr. Latitude/Longitude: 37.417656,-122.019014

Facilities: ADA compliant porta-potty near start (usually unpleasant); drinking water

Parking Notes: Across the street from the field trip meeting spot, there is additional public shore parking in the north east corner of the west Google parking lot. Be sure to park in the blue “Public Trail Parking" spots.  Lat/Long: 37.417493, -122.019984
