Field Trip: Evening Birding at Stile Ranch (San Jose)
This field trip starts at the Stile Ranch trailhead in the evening. We will walk along Calero Creek Trail and back looking and listening for birds in the hillside chaparral. Target species include California Thrasher, Horned Lark, California Quail, Common Poorwill, and potentially owls.
Trip Difficulty: 1 mile, gravel trails, packed-dirt trails, rocky trails, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade
Other Trip Notes: No restroom or water, closest public restroom is at Calero County Park, Rancho San Vicente entrance

Meet: Stile Ranch parking lot on San Vicente Ave in San Jose
Directions: NoFrom CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy south. Drive south for about 5 miles, turn right onto Harry Rd, take the next left onto McKean Rd and go 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Fortini Rd, in 0.6 miles turn left onto San Vicente Ave. Parking is on the right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.203347, -121.806014
Facilities: No Toilets, cell coverage may be intermittent or non-existent
