First Day of Summer: Beginner’s Bird and Plant Identification Walk Series at Lake Cunningham Park (San Jose) (Members Only)
Do you love being outdoors? Do you want to deepen your appreciation of nature by learning the names of birds and plants around you? With the onset of Summer, join us on our First Day of Summer beginner’s bird and plant identification walks through Lake Cunningham Park in San Jose. Lake Cunningham is a major destination for waterfowl and migratory birds, and its native garden is home for many resident and migratory birds for its habitat value.
2 miles, paved and grass routes, muddy or possibly muddy after rain, little or no elevation gain, little to no shade
Please bring a hat, water, your bird and plant list, and binoculars. Wear comfortable walking shoes.

Directions: The park's main entrance is located at 2305 S. White Road, San Jose. If you enter the park from S. White Road, enter the traffic circle ahead of you and exit the circle to your left, proceeding along the road until you get to Parking Lot A on your right. If you enter the park from Tully Road, turn right at the first stop sign and proceed along the road until you get to Parking Lot A, just past the Skate Park, on your left.
