Acorn Woodpecker by Amanda Newlove

Field Trip: Guadalupe Oak Grove Park (San Jose)

This Almaden Valley park is a lovely spot with wide flat trails meandering through groves of oak trees. We will look for fall/winter birds like Yellow-Rumped Warblers and White-Crowned Sparrows, and other oak woodland birds such as Acorn Woodpeckers, Chestnut-backed Chickadees, and Oak Titmice. One or two Phainopepla are known to visit the park Nov - Feb so we'll keep an eye out!
