Little Uvas Open Space Preserve

Little Uvas Open Space Preserve is located near Morgan Hill and normally closed to the public. We’ll explore the five small, spring-fed ponds on the property among pine and oak woodland, looking for wintering birds and waterfowl.

Trip Difficulty: Two miles, good dirt roads, some small hills, some rocky areas.

Beginner Friendly, Intermediate Level Birding

Meet: Gate at property entrance

Directions: From US-101, exit Bailey Ave. Continue west on Bailey Ave for 3 miles, then turn left onto McKean Rd. After 2.4 miles, McKean Rd becomes Uvas Rd. Continue on Uvas Rd for 5.2 miles. The entrance to the property is on your right, at the gate marked UC01, about 1.5 miles after the intersection with Croy Rd. Latitude/Longitude: 37.091319, -121.719653

Facilities: Porta-potty, no water, cell coverage may be intermittent or non-existent

Parking Type and Fees: No fee parking. Good dirt road & large flat area for parking.
