Field Trip: Ulistac for Beginners (Santa Clara)
Join us for a leisurely outing to look for songbirds, woodpeckers, raptors and water birds. This urban open space with oak and riparian woodlands and seasonal wetlands contains the last 40 acres of natural, undeveloped land along the Guadalupe River in the city of Santa Clara. Park volunteers are continuing to remove invasive species and add California native plants, making this place a rich urban sanctuary great for year-round birding. This trip is geared towards beginners but all are welcome!
Trip Difficulty: 1.5-2 miles, packed-dirt trails, little or no elevation gain, some shade, paved ramps up to the levee, otherwise no elevation gain
