Vasona Park - Residents, lingering winter visitors and spring arrivals (University Avenue entrance)
Join us for an early spring walk exploring this urban Los Gatos park. We’ll search out year-round residents, listen and identify their songs and calls; seek some early spring arrivals and look for lingering winter residents before they leave for their breeding grounds.
Trip Difficulty: ~2 miles; paved trails, packed-dirt trails, lawns (potentially wet), little or no elevation gain, some shade

Meet: Peppertree picnic area, just within the University Avenue entrance to Vasona Park.
Directions: From CA-85 in Los Gatos, exit Winchester Blvd and turn right. Continue south for about 0.3 miles then turn left onto Lark Ave. Turn right onto University Ave. The park pedestrian-only access gate will be on your left in just under a mile. Latitude/Longitude: 37.241799, -121.972504

Parking Type and Fees: Street parking on University Avenue is free; the Peppertree parking lot inside the park requires a $6 park entrance fee or a county park pass.
