Photowalk: Palo Alto Baylands (Palo Alto)

A birding trip focused on bird photography. We will meet at the Lucy Evans parking lot then walk to the nearby duck pond looking for birds to photograph. The leader is an experienced bird and wildlife photographer and will NOT carry a camera to be able to help the trip participants. This is a mostly level trail and we will walk about 1mile to 1.5 miles. Either a bridge camera or a DSLR/Mirrorless with a telephoto lens with focal length greater than 300mm is strongly recommended.

Optional: pack your own lunch/snack and we'll picnic together afterwards.

Age Limit: All Ages; Young birders, ages 18 and under, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian

Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles, gravel trails, little to no shade

Other Trip Notes: Trip will be cancelled if heavy rain is forecast.

Driving/Caravaning Requirements: Please carpool if possible.

Directions: From US-101 in Palo Alto take Embarcadero Rd east towards the bay. Pass the airport and turn left at the T-intersection. Continue for 0.5 miles passing the duck pond. Just over the bridge, the nature center (2775 Embarcadero Rd) will be on your left and the paved parking area will be on your right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.458949, -122.105212 for the parking lot
