Summer Birding at Spring Valley

Join us for a walk in Ed Levin County Park as well look for any late spring migrants as well the early summer birds. The trip will take a leisurely loop around the Spring Valley Pond and the adjacent lawn areas, where we will likely find 35+ species during our 2.5-hour walk. We'll check the trees for Hooded and Bullock’s Orioles, Western Kingbirds, Western Tanagers, Lawrence's Goldfinches and various woodpeckers. The Spring Valley pond is great to look for egrets, Great Blue Heron, Double-crested Cormorant and Pied-billed Grebe. All the while, we'll keep an eye to the sky for this location's abundant raptors; Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, Red-shouldered Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Sharp-shinned Hawk, White-tailed Kite, Merlin, American Kestrel, and Peregrine Falcon are all possible here!
