Workshop: Christmas Bird Count Territories
The annual Christmas Bird Count (CBC) provides important community science data which helps us understand bird movements, populations, and more. However, participants need to follow the counting and data reporting protocols. We'll go out into the field to learn and practice the CBC procedures including tallying birds for the CBC, estimating size of large flocks, using eBird for CBC, etc. We'll also discuss the protocol for Feederwatches, where CBC participants remain at a single location (even at home) to tally birds and report data for the CBC.
Who should attend: anyone new to the Christmas Bird Count, new or novice birders, anyone planning a Feederwatch, and anyone who wants a reminder on the procedures
