Snowy Egret: Teresa Cheng
Young Birders Club: Shorebird Way & Charleston Rd. Marsh
An iconic spot during nesting season, Shorebird Way Rookery in Mountain View, California is the center of a huge colony of black-crowned night herons, snowy egrets, and great egrets. These birds return each year to the Google Campus for raising their young.
Nearby, Charleston Road Marsh is a casual walking trail around a habitat with many shrubs and trees, some common birds to see are songbirds, flycatchers, and some waterfowl.
This trip will follow the Fitness trail of Charleston Road Marsh, hopefully sighting a variety of passerine species. Then, we will end with the highlight of Shorebird Way Rookery, seeing courtship and chicks of the birds.
