Young Birders Club: Evening Stroll at Seal Point Park
Join the Young Birders Club for an evening stroll at Seal Point Park in San Mateo County, a scenic bayside park known for its mix of tidal marsh, shoreline, and open grassland habitats.
This outing will follow a loop around the park’s paved and dirt paths. During the walk, we can expect a variety of wintering shorebirds along the bay, waterfowl on the open water, and gulls and terns moving along the shoreline. The park is also a reliable place to see raptors such as Northern Harrier, Red-tailed Hawk, and White-tailed Kite, as well as wintering sparrows and other passerines in the grassy areas. We’ll also search for Burrowing Owl, a resident species at the park.
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
