Young Birders Club: McClellan Ranch
Join the Young Birders Club for an easy stroll at McClellan Ranch, an urban park in Cupertino that offers a surprising diversity of birds thanks to its mix of creekside habitat, orchards, and open fields.
We'll start at the Nature Shop watching the birds visiting the SCVBA feeders.
Then we'll walk down the path next to Stevens Creek, where we expect to see woodpeckers, kinglets, warblers, and possibly some hawks circling overhead.
We'll continue to Blackberry Farm Park and take the paved Stevens Creek Trail back, where we will stop by the farm to enjoy the animals and keep an eye out for raptors and other birds in the surrounding fields.
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
