Western Bluebird: Tom Grey
Young Birders Club: Valle Vista Staging Area
Join the YBC for a bird walk at the Valle Vista Staging Area, our very first outing in Contra Costa County!
This well-known birding hotspot features a mix of habitats: grassland, chaparral, riparian willows and alders, redwoods and pines, and mixed-forest deciduous trees. Such habitat diversity supports a rich variety of birdlife in early spring. We expect to see plenty of waterfowl, early signs of nesting behavior, and possibly catch sight of some migrants passing through.
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
