Our Spring Birdathon kicked off this past weekend and the writeups and photos have started to flow in. Every team has a story to tell, whether it be one person kicking up their feet and birding out their kitchen window or a distributed team of fourteen birders spanning the county. Check our Birdathon Stories page regularly as the Birdathon adventures continue.
Our Audubon Nature Shop has temporarily changed to appointment only. You can still order birdseed, suet, books and other items by calling April Austin, our office manager, at 408-252-3747 or sending email to her at scvas@scvas.org to organize a time for pickup.

As our birds ramp up nesting activity, SCVAS is strongly recommending that specific details regarding nest sites or nesting activity be omitted from public posts to South Bay Birds or other list services.
We are joining our conservation partners – who have fought together for years for balanced management of our public lands – to make sure the BLM hears loud and clear from the public that they should honor their 2015 commitment to protect important sage-grouse habitat. You can help by weighing in with the BLM, as they are asking for public comments.
