Gulls: Parts 1,2,3. January 2021
Are you intimidated by Gulls? Sit back as Matthew Dodder teaches a 3 part class on Gull identification to help you overcome your fears. This beginner/intermediate-level class focuses on structure, topography, and age as keys to identification. Included are these and other important tools you’ll need to make Gulls fun and less intimidating.
Gulls 1, 2 and 3 will outline what to look for and how to notice differences between our most common species as well as some of our more exotic rarities. With any luck, the presentation will help decriminalize this wonderful (albeit daunting) family of birds and begin to make us all feel better about spending time with this ancient group of confusing species.
Your purchase gives you access to all the video content for a class that was held live as part of SCVAS Learn. Live participants can interact with each other during class and receive access to our Discord server where they can ask the instructor questions, post photos, help each other in bird identification and share stories of their birding trips. Recorded classes do not include these benefits, but contain all of the lecture content from the instructor, as well as supplementary materials, bibliographies and reference links. If you enjoy these recorded classes, consider signing up for one of our live classes. Check the SCVAS website to see which classes are on offer.
