Hooded Oriole: John Scharpen
PUBLIC 4 HOUR TRADITIONAL
We will initially bird around Almaden Lake area, then walk along the Alamitos Creek (paved trail first, then back along the adjacent dirt trail). Time permitting, we may go to a nearby area such as Los Capitancillos Ponds, or Guadalupe Oak Grove Park, or Santa Clara Valley Water District to increase our bird species count.
Trip Difficulty: 3 miles, paved trails, packed dirt trails, muddy or possibly muddy after rain

Meet Location: Almaden Lake parking lot on Winfield Blvd, near the blue bathrooms
Directions: Almaden Lake Park and Los Alamitos Creek Trail
From CA-85 in San Jose, exit Almaden Expy. Drive south for 0.8 miles, turn left onto Coleman Rd, then make the first right onto Winfield Blvd. Park entrance is on your right in less than ½ mile. Latitude/Longitude: 37.2389964, -121.8698891
