Drop-In: Shorebird Egret Rookery
Want in on the excitement of the nesting season? Drop in anytime between 8:30 am and 11:00 am to bird with us! SCVBA volunteers will be stationed at the rookery on Shorebird Way in Mountain View with binoculars and field guides to help you identify birds such as Lesser Goldfinch, Western Bluebirds, Red-shouldered Hawks and, of course, the egrets! We will also show you how to use Merlin Bird ID (a free bird identification app), eBird and other birding tools and resources.
Trip Difficulty: stationary event, paved trails, some shade

Meet: at the Shorebird Egret Rookery
Directions: Take CA-85 N to Mountain View, leave on exit 24c to Shoreline Blvd. Take the right 2 lanes to turn right onto Shoreline Blvd. Turn right on Shorebird Way, continuing until the road closure signs. Park in any of the nearby Google lots. Latitude/Longitude: (37.418956, -122.071510).
