Scaly-breated Munia by Howard Friedman
Birding at Santa Clara Valley Water District Headquarters (San Jose)
In Almaden Valley and hidden behind the Santa Clara Valley Water District (SCVWD) headquarters are two percolation ponds, drought tolerant gardens, and of the Guadalupe River. We’ll scan the ponds and the river in search of ducks, wading birds, raptors and songbirds. If we’re lucky, we will spot the Scaly-breasted Munia that breed in the area. This compact location is ideal for new birders or those short on time.
