Field Trip: Vasona County Park
This fall, join us for a leisurely bird walk around the riparian woodlands, small lake, eucalyptus groves, and large manicured lawns of this urban Los Gatos park. We’ll be looking for fall warblers and other migrants as well as year-round residents such as Nuttall’s Woodpeckers, California Towhees, Chestnut-backed Chickadees and Oak Titmice.
Optional: pack your own lunch/snack and we'll picnic together afterwards.
Trip Difficulty: 3 miles, paved trails, lawns (potentially wet), little or no elevation gain, some shade

Beginner Friendly, Family Friendly Ages 10 and up, No elevation gain
Meet: main entrance, first parking lot on left after entry kiosk
Directions: From CA-85 in Los Gatos, exit Winchester Blvd. Continue south for about 1.5 miles (Winchester Blvd becomes North Santa Cruz Ave) then turn left onto Blossom Hill Rd. The park entrance will be on your left in less than 0.5 miles. Latitude/Longitude: 37.235556, -121.973150

Parking Type and Fees: paved parking lot, parking fees (use Santa Clara County Park annual pass, otherwise it is $6.00 per car, credit card only)
