American Kestrel by Robert Ho

Early Spring at Coyote Valley OSP

Located between San Jose and Morgan Hill, this OSP of rolling hills, oak savanna, serpentine rock outcroppings, and native grasslands is a great place to spot raptors. We will take the full Arrowhead Loop Trail. Raptors such as American Kestrels, Northern Harriers, and Red-tailed Hawks are expected, and Golden Eagles and Ferruginous Hawks are also possible. We will be certain to see Yellow-billed Magpies, and Rock Wrens, Loggerhead Shrikes, and Say’s Phoebes are good possibilities too.
