Penitencia Creek Trail (San Jose)

The park contains several percolation ponds fed by Penitencia Creek. We may find several types of ducks and herons, plus migrants, including Warblers, Hermit Thrushes, and Ruby-crowned Kinglets.

Trip Difficulty: 2 miles, paved trails, gravel trails, packed-dirt trails, some shade

Meet: Noble Ave Entrance near Grossmont Dr

Directions: From I-680 in San Jose take the McKee Road exit east. Go east for 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Toyon Rd, go 0.9 miles, turn right onto Penitencia Creek Rd, then take the next left onto Noble Ave. After about 500 feet, turn left to stay on Noble Road and approach the meeting point.
