Field Trip: Phylo-birding at Vasona (Los Gatos)
We’ll use the resident birds and fall migrants of Vasona Lake County Park to focus on ways in which phylogenetic and biogeographic knowledge can enrich your birding experience. Habitats include the lake, Los Gatos Creek and its riparian woodland, and lots of open lawn. A handout will be provided.

Meet: main entrance, first parking lot on left after entry kiosk.
Directions: From CA-85 in Los Gatos, exit Winchester Blvd. Continue south for about 1.5 miles (Winchester Blvd becomes North Santa Cruz Ave) then turn left onto Blossom Hill Rd. The park entrance will be on your left in less than 0.5 miles. Latitude/Longitude: 37.235556, -121.973150
