Stevens Creek County Park (Cupertino)

This Cupertino park is located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. We’ll check out creekside and woodland picnic areas for woodpeckers, Steller’s Jays, Brown Creepers, Hermit Thrush and Towsend’s Warblers. In the chaparral we will look for California Thrasher and Wrentit. 

Trip Difficulty: 2.5 miles, dirt trails, some short steep grades, elevation gain less than 300 ft.

Other Trip Notes: Bring drinking water and snacks if needed.

Meet: Chestnut Parking Lot

Directions: From I-280 in Cupertino take Foothill Expy exit. Continue south on Foothill Blvd for about 2 miles (it becomes Stevens Canyon Rd). Turn left into the first park entrance and meet in the Chestnut Picnic Area parking lot (first parking lot on your left). Latitude/Longitude: 37.306812, -122.073302 

Facilities: Bathrooms are located in the Chestnut Picnic Area, Villa Maria Picnic Area and at Bay Tree Parking.

Parking Type and Fees: Paved parking, parking fees (use Santa Clara County Park annual pass, otherwise it is $6.00 per car, credit card only)
