Join this two part training to learn about how to successfully monitor nest boxes and nest box trails. Part 1 takes place on February 23 at 7PM, Part 2 takes place on February 25 at 1PM at McClellan Ranch. Participants will learn what’s going on with our local cavity nesters and how individuals can help stop their decline. This is a great way to make the most of your outdoor spaces at your home, or find a deeper understanding for the life cycles of the native cavity nesting birds that call Santa Clara County home.
CNRP training seeks to provide monitors with the information needed to participate in this decades old, hands on, citizen science conservation project to protect cavity nesting birds. We're happy to answer questions from the backyard monitor with one box, as well as supporting the monitors keeping track of trails of dozens of boxes. This project is open to anyone, whether you're a high school student looking for hands on volunteering experience, or someone trying to maximize the habitat potential of their yard.
SCVAS is a proud partner of the California Bluebird Recovery Program, and is happy to work with monitors to support their trails and conservation.
