Young Birders Club: Ed Levin County Park Spring Valley Area
Come celebrate Mother's day with the YBC on a bird walk at Ed Levin County Park, one of the region's best birding hotspots in spring. The park offers diverse habitsts, including ponds, oak woodlands, and grassy hills that attract a wide range of birdlife.
We will start around the pond area, then walk down the Nature Trail through the riparian habitat, and return along the Spring Valley Trail on the hillside to the famous "magic tree", where we'll search for Allen's Hummingbird and other spring specialties.
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.

Meet: Parking lot at the pond
Directions: From I-680 in Milpitas, exit E Calaveras Blvd and go east for about 2.5 miles. OR, from Mountain View or Palo Alto, take 101 south to 237 east, which turns into Calaveras. The Spring Valley Parking Area will be on your right, across from the fire station. At the entrance kiosk, turn right and park at the pond.

Facilities: ADA accessible bathroom, drinking water, cell coverage may be intermittent or non-existent
Parking: paved parking lot, use Santa Clara County Park annual pass, otherwise it is $6.00 per car, credit card only
