Young Birders Club: Máyyan 'Ooyákma/Coyote Ridge OSP
Come join the YBC for a guided bird walk at Máyyan 'Ooyákma (Coyote Ridge OSP).
We will walk the Bay Checkerspot Butterfly Trail to enjoy the season’s wildflowers in the serpentine grassland and to find specialized grassland birds such as Lark Sparrow, Grasshopper Sparrow, Rufous-crowned Sparrow, and Horned Lark all the while looking for the Bay Checkerspot Butterfly, a threatened species!
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
Notes: Bring water, snacks. Rain cancels
Trip Difficulty: ~3 miles round trip with an elevation gain of about 500ft, rocky trails, little to no shade

Directions: From US-101, exit Bailey Ave and head east towards the foothills. Bailey Ave turns into Malech Rd. Continue on Malech Rd for 0.3 miles. The park will be on your right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.214715, -121.721581
