Sooty Shearwater: Tom Grey
Young Birders Club : Seawatch at Point Pinos
Join the Young Birders Club for a trip to Point Pinos and participate in the Monterey Audubon Seawatch!
The seawatch runs dawn to dusk every day from Nov. 1st to Dec. 15th. We'll spend most of our time scanning the ocean, counting all passing birds with special attention on migrating Pacific Loons, Surf Scoters, and other seabirds. We'll also walk a short distance along the coastal trail to add some additional species such as rocky shoreline loving shorebirds (Black Oystercatcher, Black Turnstone) and any birds around Crespi Pond.
The official trip is from 10am to 1pm, but you are welcome to come as early as sunrise and stay as long as you'd like!
This trip is a joint trip with the Monterey Audubon Society YBC. Come meet the out-of-county young birders!
This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
