Young Birders Club: Vasona Lake County Park
Join the Young Birders Club for a bird walk to Vasona Lake! This highly-developed urban park in Los Gatos is home to a variety of diverse habitats and bird species. We’ll search the riparian woodlands, small lake, eucalyptus groves, and large manicured lawns for herons, mergansers, warblers, spring migrants, and more.
This trip is designed for young birders, though parents and siblings are welcome to attend! We welcome birders of all skill levels. Loaner binoculars are available for participants.
Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles, paved trails, lawns, little to no elevation change, some shade

Meet: Lakeview Group Area Parking Lot
Directions: From CA-85 in Los Gatos, exit Winchester Blvd. Continue south for about 1.5 miles (Winchester Blvd becomes North Santa Cruz Ave) then turn left onto Blossom Hill Rd. The park entrance will be on your left in less than 0.5 miles. Pass through the park entry kiosk and continue on the Vasona Park Rd. Turn left onto the Pepper Tree Lane all the way to the top.
