About SCVBA
Established in 1925, SCVBA is one of Santa Clara County's oldest grassroots bird conservation organizations. For nearly 100 years, our dedicated staff, volunteers, and 1,000+ local members have worked tirelessly to:
Protect bird and wildlife habitats
Provide nature education for underserved children
Make birding accessible to the wider community
Promote the enjoyment, understanding, and protection of birds and other wildlife
Board Opportunity
We are actively seeking two committed board members to join our diverse, working board of directors. Our board guides SCVBA's activities and serves in the organization's fiduciary capacity, with all members actively engaging in committees and projects that align with their interests and expertise.
What We're Looking For
Essential qualities:
Passion for local conservation and nature
Commitment to SCVBA's mission and values
Preferred experience in one or more areas:
Fundraising, marketing, community outreach, or finance
Leadership roles in corporate or non-profit organizations
Advocacy for conservation causes, youth programs, and education
