Peter Shen
I started birding about 12 years ago, and it has been a rewarding journey ever since. Bird photography has given me a reason to spend more time outdoors, enjoy nature, and get some exercise, which has also been good for my health. Most of my birding is done in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, and I rarely travel outside the region. I've learned that you don't have to go far to find amazing birds and great photo opportunities. My favorite birds to photograph are shorebirds, and I'm especially drawn to wetlands and other water habitats. I enjoy the challenge of observing their behavior and capturing those moments through my camera. One of the things I enjoy most about birding is that there's always something new to learn. Even after all these years, every outing is a little different, and that's what keeps me coming back. I hope my photographs encourage others to visit our local parks and wetlands and discover the incredible diversity of birds we have here.
