Hellyer County Park (Cottonwood Lake side)

Hellyer County Park is an urban park in San Jose with a mix of habitats - riparian, woodland, and a fresh water lake that supports a wide variety of species in a small area. We expect to find a mix of wintering birds and residents with the chance of a rarity or two.

Trip Difficulty: 2.5 miles, paved trails, gravel trails, packed-dirt trails, lawns (potentially wet), some shade

Meet: playground parking lot

Directions: From US-101 in San Jose, exit Hellyer Ave. Follow the signs for the county park and merge onto Hellyer Ave. Once on Hellyer Ave, take the first left into the main parking lot. Pay the $6.00 entrance fee, and then pass the entry kiosk and continue to the playground parking lot on your right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.282308, -121.811631

Facilities: ADA accessible bathroom, drinking water

Parking Type and Fees: paved parking lot, ADA spots available, parking fees (use Santa Clara County Park annual pass, otherwise it is $6.00 per car, credit card only)
