Field Trip: Winter birding at Máyyan 'Ooyákma/Coyote Ridge OSP (Morgan Hill)

This is a joint event with Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority.

Many birds winter at MOCR, including large flocks of western meadowlarks, horned larks, and American pipits. Both eagles are often seen. And early spring wildflowers in the Bay area's largest preserved serpentine grassland are also a possibility.

Trip Difficulty: 3 miles, gravel trails, hilly (elevation gain over 300 ft), little to no shade

Meet: Preserve overflow parking lot

Directions: From US-101, exit Bailey Ave and head east towards the foothills. Bailey Ave turns into Malech Rd. Continue on Malech Rd for 0.3 miles. The park will be on your right. Please use the overlow gravel parking lot. GPS: 37.214715, -121.721581
