Young Birders Club: Shorebirds and Shovelers at the Palo Alto Baylands

Join the Young Birders Club for a high tide walk at the Palo Alto Baylands, one of the best birding spots in the Bay Area. We will mainly be looking for shorebirds and waterfowl, though many other species are likely.

This trip is designed for young birders, but parents and siblings are welcome to attend. We welcome birders of all skill levels! Loaner binoculars are available for participants.

Trip Difficulty: 1.5 miles, paved/dirt trails, little to no elevation change

Meet: Parking Lot for Lucy Evans Nature Center

Directions: From US-101 in Palo Alto take Embarcadero Rd east towards the bay. Pass the airport and turn left at the T-intersection. Continue for 0.5 miles passing the duck pond. Just over the bridge, the nature center (2775 Embarcadero Rd) will be on your left and the paved parking area will be on your right. Latitude/Longitude: 37.458949, -122.105212 for the parking lot.

Facilities: ADA accessible portapotty, cell service, water fountains
