Quarry Park (Saratoga)
We’ll explore one of the South Bay’s newest parks. The main trail rises steadily from Saratoga to Sanborn County Park and passes through typical low- and higher-altitude forest, so expect Black-headed Grosbeak, Band-tailed Pigeon, Warbling Vireo, Hairy Woodpecker, White-breasted Nuthatch, Steller’s Jay, and other forest birds. There’s also a small pond.
Trip Difficulty: 2-3 miles, gravel and packed-dirt trails, hilly (elevation gain over 300 ft), shady, poison oak alongside trail (wear long pants)
